A student who went missing on Friday last week following protests at the University of Eldoret was on early Monday morning found in an area identified as Kondoo in Burnt Forest.
Wesley Kogo, who is a student leader at the university, was found alone after he was released by alleged kidnappers.
According to Kogo's father Moses Kenei, he was called early Monday morning by unknown people who told him that his son had been freed.
"My son told me that on the day of the kidnap he had been asked by an unknown woman to help her lift a sick person into the car. When he went to assist her, she grabbed his shirt and shoved him into the vehicle and fled with him," said Kenei.
Kenei added that his son told him that he was blindfolded and could not even talk.
"He has also told us that upon arrival to the place he could not identify, he was offered food but declined to eat fearing that he could be poisoned," he added.
He said Kogo who could not talk to press was still shocked but they were grateful they found him alive.
Kenei said they would record a statement at Eldoret Police Station. The students were protesting to have their VC Teresa Atenga resign.
