A section of NASA leaders from western Kenya have accused their counterparts in Kakamega of receiving hand handouts from Deputy President William Ruto to boycott the Mondays and Friday anti-IEBC protests.
Speaking on behalf of Amani National Congress (ANC), youth leader Jeff Mwenje has disclosed that some legislators were bribed by the DP into giving the demonstrations a deaf ear at his Sugoi home,Nandi County. He has threatened to name and ashame them for betraying the party ideologies and the Mulembe nation.
”We are aware some NASA MPs collected handouts from Deputy President William Ruto’s Sugoi home to go slow on NASA campaigns. We will soon shame them for betraying the will of the voters,” Mwenje said.
The Kakamega demos were led by former county Senator, Boni Khalwale.
But according to Raila Odinga, ‘the generals’ do not have to be present at the protests, that is what they ‘have the foot soldiers for'.The NASA leader has maintained that the Friday countrywide shall proceed has planned.
The demonstration go on inspite of Raila Odinga meeting with IEBC officials on Tuesday to solve the stalemate. The meeting did not bear any fruit as NASA holds strong stances in what is termed as 'irreducible minimum'.
The NASA outfit has maintained that they shall boycott the repeat presidential election unless their demands are met.
