[Photo: Courtesy]The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has blacklisted four Senatorial hopefuls, for failing to pass integrity test.A document from EACC to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) vetting committee, said the four were under investigations, and risk being barred from vying in the August 8 polls.Igembe North Member of Parliament, who wants to be the Senator of Meru County, Mithika Linturi is accused of forging academic documents to the IEBC, in the 2013 elections.He claimed he graduated from the University of Nairobi in the year 2001, but according to EACC he is not a graduate of the University.Others include Wajir Senate aspirant Diriye Abdulahi Mohammed. He was found culpable of causing disturbance at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), charged at the Makadara Court where he pleaded guilty, and was fined Sh10,000 and Sh40,000 to secure his freedom.David Kinisu Sifuna who wants to be senator in Trans Nzoia County was found culpable of misappropriating Sh3 million allocated to the Trans Nzoia County Assembly by the County government.In the document, EACC is also investigating businessman Kiriiro Francis Kiambi. He is eyeing the Tharaka Nithi senatorial seat. Kambi is accused of tax evasion through his company, M/s Patiala Distillers Kenya Ltd, which allegedly evaded taxes amounting to Sh7 million.
