President Uhuru Kenyatta is set to deliver his first State of the nation address in his second term as Head of State later today.
The locals of the Lakeside region are eagerly waiting for the speech from the president with different expectations.
Most of them noted that the President should address the issue of the handshake, and the high standard of living in the country.
Here are some of the expectations:
“I hope the President speaks about the famous handshake with our leader Raila Odinga. The two have been close of late and we hope to see things outlined about how they work together,” said Jeremy Opondo.
“It is very important that the President appreciates Raila Odinga for the step he has taken in ensuring peace in the country. Sacrificing is political ambitions to work with Uhuru is a very major step. I expect to hear a lot from the President on that,” said Kelvin Otis.
“I hope the President speaks about youth employment. We the youth have been faced with this challenge for a long period of time. We also hope to hear a solution to that,” noted Daniel Omondi.
“We would love to hear the President give his clear stand on the proposed law amendment bill. We hope he gives a clear way on that,” Grace Akinyi opined.
“I am hoping the president speaks about peace and uniting this country through working with both leaders from every part of the country. We hope he fulfills his campaign pledge, peace,” said Mary Achieng.
