According to the residents interviewed by this writer on Sunday at Kisii town, some support the current Governor and others are for a change in leadership.

James Nyakwara one of the residents said that they need change come 2017 so that they can have more projects since the current leadership has failed to fulfill their promises.

"We need a change in leadership of the county hence am in support of any change which will be required to transform our county," Nyakwara said

Nyakwara however, didn't state exactly whom he wanted to be governor in 2017 insisting that ‘Kura yako siri yako.'

Another resident’s Grace Nyanchweya said that the current leaders should be given another chance so that they can complete their projects.

"For me changing of leaders will affect our development since the new leaders will come in and initiate their projects and sideline the ones which were started early,” he said.

The battle of the Kisii gubernatorial seat will be between the current Governor James Ongwae who will seek to retain the seat, Senator Chris Obure, and South Mugirango MP Manson Nyamweya are also expected to be in contention.
