Resolutions that were tabled down by leaders at a meeting at the Teachers Advisory Center (TAC) in Eldoret has drawn mixed reactions among the residents.
Moiben Member of Parliament Silas Tiren posted the full details of the resolutions made through his official Facebook account.
Some of the 10-points resolutions include; demands that all millers should be audited, true farmers to be paid for the maize they delivered to National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) and farmers who still hold grains in their stores be allowed to deliver them to NCPB stores among others.
However, the resolutions have elicited different reactions among the residents. Here is a selected few from Facebook users;
"As you fight for the rights of farmers kindly do it in solidarity with your fellow leaders and stop fighting deputy president on this petty issues know that we have a mountain to climb ahead," Hon Kibiwott Kaptum said.
"Now you've come up with these resolutions, isn't the right place now to hand them to is parliament? You've been good in the street shouting rather than converting that energy to parliament," Boaz Bor said.
"Hon Tiren and Hon Keter good work keep on going," noted Kipkoech Gilbert.
"The points discussed upon by our able leaders are on point. My main concern now turns to implementation, will it be implemented?" Dominic Kiptanui noted.
"We know who the target is, your resolutions are good but don't take advantage of farmers plight," James Kibiwott said.
"Nice move Mheshimiwa Silas Tiren, Hon Keter, Governor Mandago & Hon Tuwei," Judith Korir said.
Leaders present at the meeting were governor Jackson Mandago, Senator Prof Margaret Kamar, MPs Alfred Keter, Vincent Tuwei, Caleb Kositany, William Chepkut, Janet Rotich and Oscar Sudi.
