A section of Kenyans have expressed their disappointment with President Uhuru Kenyatta after he commended police for good work they did during the election period.
The Kenyans wondered how Uhuru could congratulate the officers while reports indicated the police killed several unarmed civilians during the poll period.
Below are some reactions from twitter users:
@Shikohkihika: @UKenyatta its okay to congratulate your Police Men, it's very okay to See the Good job they Did . You should actually issue them with certificates for Killing Baby Pendo ,Moraa and Geoffrey , for Beating up that old Woman at Jacaranda you know Police brutality should be awarded@OAmollo: Clear confirmation that ULTIMATE RESPONSIBILITY for the deaths, injuries & damages occasioned by our Rogue Policemen lies at the feet of their COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF Uhuru Kenyatta. Sad.@patricksafariR: For Kenyans still expecting President@UKenyatta to condemn police killings, here is a signal where the president is commending all police officers involved in 2017 poll exercises for high degree of professionalism.@alaminkimathi: See @UKenyatta has lauded police for a good job well done; killings of 100 Kenyans including babies and mothers & giving support to militia.@Steve_Raheem: With a combined force of 150,000 police officers plus the military, @ UKenyatta you won't rule 45,000,000 Kenyans by force. The same police you're today congratulating will soon shake hands with the liberators.@kmaisy: 👏👏👏congratulations @ UKenyatta to your police...showing the middle finger to the deceased! never mock the dead especially innocent children! How can you be so heartless? oh, these are 2nd class children and citizens t
@Steve_Raheem: By congratulating the police for a job well done, @UKenyatta has again proved that the @PoliceKE is a state sanctioned militia: from a police service to a police force. Expect no justice for Baby Pendo, Samantha and Geoffrey. Murderers have the backing of the tyrant.
@daisyjerop: 😭😭😭 Mr. President one life lost because of police brutality is one life to many! Did you not say you were the president of all Kenyans? Are those mourning their dead not worthy of your empathy? Most unbecoming of one designated as a symbol of national unity
