There are mixed reactions in Nyamira County after West Mugirago Member of Parliament Dr James Gesami launched is gubernatorial bid.
According to West Mugirango residents, the MP's move to vie for the county top seat offers an opportunity for other leaders to vie for the MPs seat, and this may breed a new group of leaders.
Jared Mogaka, a resident from West Mugirango said the move allows for a new dimension in both the area and county politics.
“Now those who have been competing with Gesami have an opportunity of playing their political game without Gesami, but the challenge will be what if Gesami cannot win the seat, it means he will die politically,” said Mogaka.
Nelson Sagero resident from Kitutu Masaba who also talked to this writer said that there are three candidates from Masaba, and if they work together and front one candidate, then they have a chance for one of them to clinch the seat.
