NASA leader Raila Odinga’s decision to sack security guards and casual workers attached to his Opoda farm has elicited sharp reactions among Nyamira residents.
The residents said Raila could have given detectives humble time to investigate the matter before sacking the guards and casual laborers.
“I don’t agree with Raila’s decision to sack guards and casuals workers. Raila and his family must respect the rule of law and stop subjecting poor people to embarrassment and frustrations because they have not been found guilty for them to be sacked,” said Wilfred Onchieku.
Another resident Edwin Omwoyo claimed that poor people in this country will never get justice.
“Loyal families have stolen all the funds in this country which they are using to won big farms, employ workers and pay them peanuts and sack them unnecessary. Poor people will never get justice. I don’t support Raila’s decision,” said Omwoyo.
Soteri Nyaming’a, a security guard in Nyamira town accused Raila for mistreating his workers.
“Detectives are yet to complete investigations and it is unfortunate that Raila and his family rushed to sack workers.
Raila could have allowed detectives complete probe and anyone who was to be found guilty to be charged," he said.
