Barely moments after Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire caught the eye of President Uhuru Kenyatta after openly defying him, his constituents have come out to express their reactions.
On Wednesday, Mr Bosire refused to stand in honour of the Kenyan soldiers who were slain by al Shabaab militia who attacked their camp in El Adde, Somalia early this year as ordered by Uhuru during is address to the nation in Parliament.
On the official Facebook page of Kitutu Masaba, messages flooded from people in reaction to the unique conduct of the first time MP in the august House.
“What our MP did today represents the genuine feelings of an ordinary Kenyan. Bosire is intelligent enough and knew exactly what he did. Opposition strongholds are neglected by the Jubilee government in terms of development and he did that to demand democracy from the other side,” read a post by James Mogere.
“We know a number of families from our region who lost soldiers since 2013 in Somalia but have never been compensated by the government. That was the only way for Bosire to communicate to the President,” added Ernest Nyakundi.
However, some showed open discontent with their MP accusing him of ‘betraying’ the spirits of innocent people.
“I don’t agree with him (Bosire) at all. There is a proper way of showing dissatisfaction and not by openly defying the President. That is equal to betraying the spirits of innocent Kitutu Masaba people. He should apologise for demeaning the presidency,” said Peter Mong’are.
Mr Bosire has since defended his actions and accused the President of allegedly neglecting close to 50 families who have lost their loved ones in Somalia since 2013.
