Mount Kenya University (MKU has opened a new education centre in Kisumu as a satellite institution of MKU Kakamega Campus. MKU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Stanley Waudo was upbeat the new centre will enable their students to access a wide range of academic programmes as well as library facilities offered by the institution. The Kisumu new centre which will be located at Reliance House along Oginga Odinga street will be under Mr. Russell Ouma as the director replacing Mr Bethwel Sugut has moved to MKU Kitale campus. “It is in line with our vision of making higher education accessible to all”, added Prof. Waudo. The center will be offering courses in certificate, diploma, post graduate, bachelor, masters and PHDs in Business Administration and Marketing, Education, Early childhood, Community Development, Business Information Technology and many more. The rapidly expanding university currently boasts of over 10 campuses in the country including: Nairobi, Nakuru, Kitale and in the regionally including Kigali in Rwanda and Juba South Sudan with about 10,000 students graduating yearly. The institution has also been greatly involved in community development in the country including the recently Sh10 million donated towards the National Water summit. MKU whose main campus is located in Thika Kiambu County has also opened a new campus in Kitale.
