Speaking to our reporter in the institution's office, the Director, Prof. Thomas Omae, said they will support students craving for education but are not able to access it because of poverty.

However, he said tuition fee will be relatively low to increase enrollment of students into various disciplines in the institution.

“We have opened the branch at Nyamira so that we can take education closer to people and this cuts the cost of pursuing a career outside the county,” noted Prof. Omae.

"We will give scholarships to bright students from vulnerable backgrounds in the county, so that they can effectuate academic preeminence,” he added.

The Director advised parents to take education seriously, noting that it is the major investment they would have done to their children.

“I advise parents to invest in education of their children so that they can be empowered socially, economically and financially,” he reiterated.

This comes a few weeks after the Universty's Chairman and founder, Simon Gicheru visited Kisii and Nyamira counties, and promised to invest in projects in the two counties including education.

He had opened another campus in Kisii town.
