Resident of Mlolongo on Friday found the body of a man dangling on a tree.
The body had a rope tied around the neck and authorities said the man committed suicide.
Mlolongo senior chief David Kilonzo said residents found the body of the man after he reportedly disappeared form his home on Thursday.
"It is bad that many people opt to commit suicide due to problems unknown to friends and relatives, people should share problems," he said.
He told residents who have missing kin to visit the Machakos Level Four Hospital mortuary to help identify the body.
The man had no identification documents.
The incident was the second to happen in two weeks after a similar incident happened in the area.
On December 12, another body was found dangling on a tree in Mlolongo location.
Mr Kilonzo told residents to stay calm and remain peaceful.
