Speaking on Monday at the school during the prize giving ceremony, Nyakundi said they believe if supported well, their performance will improve.

Principal Nyakundi further asked the government to help them in building more classrooms, laboratories and employ more teachers to curb shortage issues.

He has also asked the area Member of County Assembly Kennedy Mainya and the county government to sink a borehole in the school, to tackle the problem of water shortage.

“Our school has a population of more than 1,000 students, whereby 700 of them are boarders. The number is relatively high comparing to the number of the classrooms we have,” he said.

“We also have a problem with water shortage and therefore, we ask the county government to look into that issue and trust me if the issues are addressed we will improve further on our performance,” added Nyakundi.

However, the principal promised to improve in performance despite the numerous challenges facing the school.

“We cannot allow some of the challenges we have to affect our performance and therefore, we are determined to post impressive results in this year’s KCSE exams,” promised the principal.

Also present during the prize giving ceremony was Kisii Governor James Ongwae and area MCA Kennedy Mainya, who both promised to support students from vulnerable grounds through the Ward Development Fund kitty.
