Nyamira County governor hopeful Charles Mochama has denied dropping out of the race.
Speaking to journalists on Thursday, Mochama said he is still in the race for the gubernatorial seat, trashing speculations on social media that he had bowed out.
“Nyamira County has found itself in a very difficult situation in the hands of those running it at present. We need to eschew acrimony and unite in order to form the next government and take the county out of the economic gloom,” he said.
"My political competitors had paid a few youths who wrote information on a blog about me shelving my interests in becoming the next governor. I wish to state clearly that I'm still in the race," he added.
Mochama vied on The Independent Party ticket in 2013, where he lost to ODM's Governor John Nyagarama.
