Addressing mourners at Seventh Day Adventist Church Pastor Richard Nyakego's wife, Joyce's burial at Tente area in Nyamira town, Mochama tried to drum up support for the Gusii unity, a move that did not auger well with the mourners.

“We want Nyamira leaders to unite under the leadership of Mr Nyagarama (Nyamira Governor John) as we pursue the Gusii political unity,” he said, attracting murmuring from a section of the mourners.

Mochama's speech only lasted for 40 seconds after the crowd forced him to cut short his speech.

" Thanks so much for the chance but remember I am in the race for the gubernatorial seat of this county come next year," Mochama said as the crowd shouted him down.

Mrs Nyakego who was a teacher at Nyaigwa Girls’ Secondary School, died in a road accident on Monday last week in Nyamira town.

Several other leaders among them Governor Nyagarama attended the event.
