Police officers in Mombasa are looking into the death of a model who was found murdered in her home in Kizingo on Tuesday.
The 26-year-old victim, Janet Asunah, is reported to have taken her four-year-old daughter to school on the fateful day, but failed to pick her up in the evening.
According to Nairobi News, the model’s mother, Pamela Anyango, received a call from the girl’s school informing her that the granddaughter had not been picked up.
Upon reaching their house, Anyango found her daughter lying on her bedroom floor lifeless.
Investigating officers said samples of blood collected from the bedroom wall at Asunah’s home, will guide them in unearthing the mystery surrounding the death.
“We picked blood samples from the wall and we are looking for fingerprints that will aid us in the investigations,” said Mombasa Urban police boss Lucas Ogara.
"We will only know the truth when the family provides the funds for autopsy since the body was taken to a private hospital,” added Ogara.
The motive of the killing is yet to be established.
