Abdulnasser Kassim has been appointed as the new head coach of the National Super League (NSL) side Modern Coast Rangers. His appointment comes following the departure of the former club’s head coach Abdul Mohammed who was recently signed by Wazito, which was recently promoted to the SportPesa Premier League, as an assistant coach.According to Rangers secretary Ferdinand Ogot, the replacement was undertaken after wide consultations and interviews with several coaches who applied for the job. “After the interviews and wide consultation with the club management, we went for Kassim,” said Ogot, as quoted by the Nation.Ogot also said that the management of the club is confident that the new coach will transform the team during his stay. He further said that Kassim convinced the interviewing panel that he has the requisite professional skills and experience for the post. Joseph “Yeboa” Sihuli, who formerly worked with Technical University of Mombasa (TUM) has been appointed to deputize Kassim as he takes over his new role at the club.Kassim once coached at the club before he opted to resign in 2014. He also worked with Kenya Maritime Authority (KMA) during his career in sports. Is there a newsworthy accident, incident or event happening in Mombasa County that you want Hivisasa to cover?
