National Super League (NSL) outfit Modern Coast Rangers has called for week-long trials as the team prepares for the new season after a disastrous 2017 campaign.According to the club's secretary general Ferdinand Ogot, the trials are scheduled for January 2018 at the club's Changmwe Refinery grounds and will be overseen by head coach Mohammed Ahmed.Speaking during an interview with Soka.co.ke on Wednesday, Ogot also disclosed that the club had elected to pick at least four new signings and not a mass recruitment exercise as they have always done."We don't intend to have a mass recruitment this time. We only plan to sign four players notably two defenders and two strikers. These will serve as replacements for players who are bound to move to other clubs. I, therefore, appeal to those interested to turn out in large numbers for trials and try their luck. Playing big-time soccer in the National Super League should be the envy of any ambitious player,” said Ogot, as quoted by Soka.Ogot also said that the club has since parted ways with seven other players whose names will be disclosed in due time.Rangers had a disappointing campaign in 2017 where they finished a distant eleventh with 41 points after 36 outings. Is there a newsworthy accident, incident or event happening in Mombasa County that you want Hivisasa to cover?
