The modern construction of Daraja Mbili market in Kisii town is set to commence this week to improve the economy of the county and the country in general.
This comes after businessmen ask for the construction of the market for a long period of time.
Speaking on Wednesday at Daraja Mbili during the inspection, Kisii County lands committee chair Pius Abuki noted that the construction is financed by the national and county governments. He also said the construction of the first phase will be complete in the next two years.
“I want to assure our businessmen that everything is in place and today we came with the contractor and the surveyor to inspect the market then commence the construction immediately,” said Abuki.
“The construction of the market will commence at the end of this week and we urge our businessmen to cooperate with us to make this construction successful,” added Abuki.
Abuki also said the large mall store is included in the construction of phase one at Daraja Mbili market.
