ODM lawyer Okong'o Mogeni has dismissed alleged malice by the party on Senator Moses Wetangula insisting that he got what he deserved.
In a stormy senate session, Wetangula lost his Senate Minority Leadership seat to James Orengo following a coup staged by the Orange party.
"We were kind enough to give Wetangula what he had asked for. He pressured us to divorce him and that is what we did," said the Nyamira senator.
He added: "It is now upon him to make the noise or to mess around. We are the majority and that must be respected."
The ouster, which Mr Odinga has vehemently distanced himself from, is said to have been hatched by the top ODM leadership over 'disrespect' from their partners.
While Wetangula insists that he has not been formerly notified, the senate ratified the changes on Tuesday thus rendering him a backbench.
