Journalist-cum-politician Mohammed Ali has fired a warning at power-brokers in Nyali constituency, which has experienced a bee-hive of political activities in the past few months.

While challenging youth to wake up and take part in leadership, the award-winning journalist blasted the current crop of leaders who he blamed of making unrealistic promises.

Under what he dubbed 'Frere Town Declaration', the Nyali MP aspirant vowed to take power back to the people by fighting power-cartels head on.

"It's time to remove power from the power-brokers and give it back to the people of Nyali constituency," read the declaration.

Ali who lost in the ODM primaries to Governor Hassan Joho’s cousin Said Abdallah told his supporters he will be on the ballot as an independent candidate.

He urged residents to support his bid for the seat and exuded confidence he will carry the day come August 8.

Ali was accompanied by Wiper Mombasa Women Representative aspirant Zam Zam Mohamed among other politicians aligned to his side.
