Nyali MP Mohamed Ali has expressed disappointment with President Uhuru Kenyatta’s full cabinet list unveiled last week.

The former Investigative reporter claims that Uhuru’s cabinet and ambassadorial appointments sidelined youth and Persons Living with Disabilities (PLWD).

In a briefing with journalists at his Nyali office on Sunday, Ali termed as unfortunate Uhuru’s move to neglect youth, saying that he will not achieve his agenda minus the input of young people.

He said that the president made a promise to young people during his campaigns to include them in government if he won the election but he has completely ignored the promise.

“I am disappointed and saddened because the president ignored and sidelined young people while making cabinet appointments and ambassadorial positions,” he said.

The MP accused President Kenyatta of allegedly recycling old leaders who he said have not made any impact to the country in terms of service delivery.

He also accused the president of rewarding loyalties and political brokers who campaigned for him neglecting the interests of young people.

The MP asked President Kenyatta to revisit his cabinet and ensure young people are incorporated for equal and realistic development.

Ali warned  that unemployment and crime will remain serious issues if the interests of young people are not fully catered for.

The former Investigative journalist pleaded with the youth to stand firm and fight for their interests as provided for in the constitution.

President Uhuru Kenyatta’s cabinet list continues draw mixed reactions with some leaders accusing the president of using the slots to pay political debts.
