Nyali MP-elect Mohamed Ali has promised to restore the constituency’s lost glory.
In a Facebook post on Friday shortly after receiving his certificate from IEBC, Moha, as he is popularly known, thanked the electorate for the support they accorded him.“I, Mohamed Ali Mohamed, am most grateful to you, the voter in Nyali, who heard my voice. You heard me when I said that we needed change; that our lives should not be interfered with by poor politics….Thank you; my wife, my family and I will forever be grateful to you for choosing to hear me above the politics and propaganda that some of my competitors used to distract you during this campaign,” read the post in part.Moha garnered a total of 26,798 votes, beating his closest rival Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho’s cousin, Saidi Abdalla, who got 16,473 votes.He pledged to work with residents and his opponent in the race in developing the constituency and uniting all communities in the area.Moha further promised to fulfill his campaign pledges, and urged the electorate to hold him to account.“Together, we will make Nyali the jewel of Mombasa, and the envy of every constituency in the country. What we must each remember is that we will do this together,” said Moha.
