Nyali MP Mohammed Ali has urged President Uhuru Kenyatta and NASA leader Raila Odinga to resolve the current political stalemate in the country through dialogue.Ali said Raila and Uhuru hold the key to the country’s unity and must call for peace among Kenyans before, during and after Thursday’s repeat presidential election.Addressing residents at Nyali Town on Sunday, the MP also asked religious leaders to pray for the country.Ali said the country must maintain its image as a peaceful nation considering people from around the world are watching us.He pleaded with Kenyans to remain peaceful ahead of the repeat presidential election and urged them to shun violence and exercise their democratic right peacefully.The MP said the country should remain peaceful despite the political uncertainty being experienced, adding that peace is not negotiable.He urged every Kenyan to play his or her role in ensuring unity before, during and after the Thursday poll.“Kenyans should stand up for peace and denounce any politician calling for disunity or violence,” said Ali.The opposition NASA coalition has maintained that it will not take part in Thursday’s repeat presidential election.NASA leaders have announced they will take part in anti-IEBC protests on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The government has however warned the opposition against plans to sabotage the repeat poll.
