Nyali MP-elect Mohammed Ali has said he will work with Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho and other elected leaders in the county for the interests of residents.

In an interview with People Daily, Ali said there is no bad blood between him and Joho, adding that nomination issues related to the recently concluded general election are a thing of the past.The former KTN investigative reporter said that his agenda is to ensure Nyali residents benefit from both the national and the county governments.“It is wrong for people to perceive that there is bad blood between Governor Joho and I, the fact of the matter is we have good relations and will work together for our people,” he said as quoted by the daily.Ali asked Nyali and Mombasa residents to ignore propaganda being peddled out by ‘enemies’ of development.He assured residents of his commitment to deliver the promises he made to them during campaigns in the run to the recently concluded polls.He said his first assignment once sworn in parliament will be to push for laws that will create jobs opportunities for the youth and also fight drug abuse.Ali, who won the Nyali seat as an independent candidate also promised to spearhead the fight against crime and empower marginalized groups though development projects.The MP-elect was among the leaders who attended Governor Joho’s inauguration on Tuesday.Ali and Joho were not seeing eye to eye prior to the recently concluded polls after the former journalist failed to clinch the ODM ticket for the Nyali seat.Ali claimed that he was rigged out in favour of Joho’s cousin Said Abadlla who won the ODM ticket during the nominations.
