Baringo senator Gideon Moi has accused police of brutality. Moi said police used excessive force on Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto.
“I was shocked by the police brutality meted out at Bomet Governor H.E Isaac Rutto. It is unfortunate that the police, who are meant to protect the lives of the public, are the same ones assaulting them,” Moi said.
The senator urged police boss Joseph Boinnet to punish those involved.
“I called on the Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet to immediately bring those involved to book,” Moi added.
Ruto said a group of his supporters had been arrested by police in Bomet. When he went to find out what the matter was, he said, police lobbed tear gas at hi.
He got a cut below his right eye.
