The best time for Baringo Senator Gideon Moi to vie for the presidency is 2032, an MP allied to the Jubilee party has said.
Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi during the burial ceremony of international athlete Asbel Kiprop's brother in Kapseret on Tuesday said 2022 is already locked for Senator Moi as the majority of Kenyans will back Deputy President William Ruto's quest to ascend to State House.
"Our candidate in 2022 is the deputy president and anyone who will dare cross his path will be dealt with accordingly," Sudi said.
Sudia, a close ally of Ruto said the fact that former President Daniel Moi is the father to the senator does not mean he fits to lead the over 47 million Kenyans.
He said Ruto is "ripe" for the presidency since his leadership has already been tested. Sudi said Ruto is now an experienced leader capable of leading the country and equally jacking development across all regions.
Both Ruto and Gideon Moi have expressed interest in contesting for the presidency in 2022 and voters from Rift Valley region are currently divided on who to support between the two leaders.
They are both close to President Uhuru Kenyatta and Kenyans are yearning to know who among the two Uhuru will support for the president.
DP Ruto has an agreement with President Uhuru Kenyatta that says the Kikuyu community where Uhuru hails from will back the DP's presidential bid in 2022 as an appreciation for the Kalenjin support for Uhuru in 2013 and 2017.
