Rivalry between DP William Ruto and Baringo Senator Gideon Moi dominated President Uhuru Kenyatta’s two days tour in the vote rich Baringo County.
Although the two politicians support reelection of Uhuru, they have been having a share of their own differences which pundits relate to supremacy battles.
On Monday at Kabarnet, Moi was seen having a bitter oral exchange with Ruto’s aide Farouk Kibet in the presence of Uhuru Kenyatta.
An audio circulating online shows Kibet accusing Moi of favouring KANU candidates in the function that was initially organized by Jubilee.
Moments later, a furious Moi stormed out of the podium after which DP Ruto took over as the master of ceremony.
During his speech, a helpless Ruto watched Moi addressing an enthusiast crowd despite him having endorsed a Jubilee candidate for senatorial seat.
Independence KANU signed a memorandum of understanding with Jubilee and is expected to field one ministerial post should Jubilee party win in August.
President Uhuru Kenyatta is facing a stiff competition from opposition leader Raila Odinga who has launched vicious campaigns across the country.
