Oburu, who spoke during the burial ceremony for former Nominated MP Mark Too in Kapseret, Uasin Gishu, said Jamarogi's home only received electricity when Moi became President.

He said the electricity was connected following the late Mark Too's intervention.

"Mark Too came to visit us (in Bondo) one day," he said.

"He was shocked to find us seated outside the house in darkness. He called (President) Moi and told him the problem. The following day we saw electricity poles being erected everywhere and we received electricity."

He, however, did not specify the year when the electricity was connected.

Jaramogi was Kenya's first Vice President when Kenya got independence in 1963.

He worked under former President Jomo Kenyatta's Presidency until 1969 when his relationship with the Head of State became frosty and subsequently sacked.
