Moi said the roads are in a deplorable condition and wondered why the county government is not keen to repair the roads that connect the rich agricultural sub-county to other towns in the county.

The legislator observed that most roads are impassable during the rainy seasons and that the situation has hampered farming activities.

“I want to ask Governor Kinuthia Mbugua to come in and oversee repair of roads in Rongai. Our farm produce is affected since we cannot get it to the market in good time,” he said.

The lawmaker observed that farmers are also incurring huge losses since their produce takes long to reach the market. He said infrastructural development is key to the county’s development.

Moi added that poor roads are hindering growth of the sub-county.

The MP, who was speaking after inspecting development projects in Mosop, further called for the repair of drainage systems, installation of street lights and road signs.
