Baringo senator Gideon Moi overcame all odds to outshine Deputy President William Ruto in the presence of President Uhuru Kenyatta.
For the batter part of Sunday and Monday, Uhuru took his campaigns to the security volatile region and pushed for his reelection.
Just as expected, local politics that between DP William Ruto and Moi played part with locals openly defying Ruto.
At Chemolingot, Ruto was openly booed by angry locals when he campaigned for senator aspirant Simon Chelugui despite Moi’s presence.
Uhuru had signed a pact with Moi’s KANU in which Jubilee agree to award the independent party with a ministerial post should they win in August.
But the DP has often accused Moi of plotting to dethrone him as the Kalenjin spokesman with their political war escalating in recent months.
Conspicuously, despite the heckling to the DP, Uhuru only focused on popularizing his candidature in a region that has witnessed a series of insecurity incidents that has also led to loss of lives.
In every stopover, Moi was cheered by locals even though the DP was determined to rally for six piece voting style.
