Parents of Moi Primary School in Nakuru held protests over the weekend following the transfer of the school’s head Charles Njoroge.

The irate parents claim claim that they are dissatisfied with the manner in which the transfer was done and want it rescinded.

“If the Ministry will not heed our request, we will continue protesting until the matter is resolved,” said another parent.

While praising the headteacher, the parents said he had brought great improvement in the school’s performance which had not being doing well in the previous years.

According to the parents, the schools mean score had improved over the years since Mr Njoroge took over eleven years ago.

“Since he joined the school, the pupils are performing better in their studies, the school was not performing well in the past but we began to see a transformation when he took over” said Mr Dickson Mwangi, one of the parents.

However, when contacted, Mr Njoroge said that he opted for an early retirement so as to focus on his businesses saying he has served the government for close to 30 years.

“Parents should not be complaining it was my personal decision to retire, I have served the school for eleven years and I opted to take a rest,” said Njoroge.

He called on pupils and the parents to accord the new head teacher with all necessary support saying that is one of the ways to build a performing system at the school.

“Parents should be supportive to the new head that is one of the ways to ensure the school retains its prowess in education” he said.
