Lari Member of Parliament, Mburu Kahangara, on Friday launched the construction of Moi Road that transverse from Githunguri to Kagwe through Kimende.

This follows a prolonged cry by the residents who has repeatedly urged the government to repair the road.

The exercise which has already started will see the road constructed afresh as it is beyond repair.

"We will have to rebuild it since it is beyond repair,” said Kahangara.

He added that the repairs were supposed to start last year March and end on October.

Mburu said they will be sourcing for money from donors and government funding. He says they have been assured of the money and allowed to proceed with the exercise.

The 25 Km road has received Sh250 Million which he says is not enough but will help.

"This money though not enough, will help us a lot,” he said adding that the reamaining part will be funded by the government.

"The government has assured us that by the end of the year it will get us some funds to put tarmac on the road," notes Kahangara.
