The DP has been involved in bitter exchanges with high profile leaders among them Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho.

Speaking in Baringo on Friday, Moi accused Ruto of engaging in divisive politics despite his status as the second in command of the country.

“Ruto is our son but his politics are confrontational and divisive. He is creating more enemies than friends and that is not a good gesture for his political career,” he said.

Moi added: “sometimes it is fundamental to respect other leaders regardless of their status. Abusing people with arrogance will cost him someday and as leaders, we are watching carefully.”

The two leaders are seeking to have total control of the vote rich Rift Valley region ahead of 2017 polls.
