Baringo senator Gideon Moi is DP William Ruto’s greatest fear in his future plans when Kenya focuses 2022 elections.
Two prominent families; Odinga’s and Kenyatta’s would have exited political scene regardless of August presidential outcome.
Early this year, President Uhuru Kenyatta and his mother, Mama Ngina Kenyatta were forced to meet Moi to persuade him to support Uhuru’s reelection when KANU was warming up for Jubilee.
But despite Moi supporting Uhuru, DP Ruto has never been comfortable by the move and often in public; he has openly shown his frustration with the Baringo senator,
When campaigning in Baringo early this month, Ruto publically endorsed Simon Chelugui as Baringo senator in front of Moi, a move that did not go well with locals who chanted pro-Moi slogans.
Throughout their campaigns in Baringo, Ruto was jeered whenever he undermined Moi, a clear picture that the younger Moi’s political future is promising.
To further cut influence of Ruto’s in Rift Valley, Moi is closely working with Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto and a host of rebellious MPs among them Johanna Ng’eno.
Analysts say that Ruto’s political future could be dented a huge blow after August elections should Moi and the other rebellious leaders win their seats.
