Moi University last week scooped two crucial prizes at the annual Eldoret National Agriculture Society of Kenya (ASK) show.
The second largest university in the country carried home two trophies on the categories of the best manufacturers and distribution of telecommunication devices, equipment and services providers and the best stand embracing information technology and communication system.
“Scooping the two crucial prizes is testimony enough to tell the country and the continent that we are the leading University in innovation and technology. It proves that Moi University is true to its billing as the foundation of knowledge,” said Dr. Dorothy Rotich, PSSP Director and co-chair of Moi University’s ASK organizing committee.
Dr. Rotich further urged for the need for universities to venture into innovation and technology to enable grow the country’s economy, adding that Moi University is already at the vanguard of embracing the Government’s big four agenda of manufacturing, universal healthcare, affordable housing and food security.
Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri, who was in attendance praised his former school for piloting innovation and technology echoing the need for education to solve society’s problems in the 21st century and information age.
The CS expressed his commitment to support Moi University Alumni Association’s (MUAA) activities as he is an alumnus who graduated from the University in 1994 with a degree in Education.
