Moi University has said it will close two of its campuses in order to consolidate its resources and improve quality of education offered to students.
The campuses will close before the beginning of the next academic year.
Deputy Vice Chancellor in charge of Academics, Research and Extension, Prof. Isaac Kimengi said Nakuru and Kericho campuses will be shut down, but none of the students will be affected.
"None of the students in Nakuru and Kericho campuses will be negatively affected. They will join other campuses of Moi University," he said while addressing students at Eldoret West Campus on Monday.
He said the move is aimed at improving quality education offered at the University.
The university was recently rocked by succession disputes, after a section of Rift Valley leaders, led by Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago, disputed the appointment of Prof Laban Ayiro as Acting Vice Chancellor.
They claimed the appointment was not done on merit.
