Police have arrested a security guard at Moi University in Eldoret for allegedly raping a first-year student in one of the institution's hostels.The university's student leaders reported that the guard raped the student so that in exchange, he does not report to the school authorities that she arrived to the hostels past midnight.The victim recorded a statement with the university security officials and at Kases police station where the suspect is being held.The incident took place at 2 am, Saturday. This is according to Moi University Dean of Students J.S Ayieko."The university administration and the student leadership is committed to ensuring justice to the victim and prevention of the occurrence of similar cases in the future," Ayieko is quoted by The Star.The other students have warned of unspecified action if the suspected will not be prosecuted.
