Led by University Academic Staff Union (UASU) Moi University Chapter Secretary general Jack-Willis Abok, the lecturers said they will not go back to work until their CBA is signed, registered and implemented."We want our 2017-2021 CBA implemented to the latter failure to which we will paralyze learning at Moi University," Abok said in Eldoret town, Thursday."We are tired with the government's cat and mouse games but this time round we will accept nothing less than the CBA," he added. The lecturers further asked Labour Cabinet Secretary Ukur Yattani to ensure that the CBA is implemented."Because of the unstructured salary system in public universities, senior lecturers are earning less or parallel to their students in the medical sector," noted Abok. They said, the Moi University 2013-2017 CBA had also not been implemented and urged the university council and Senate to address the issue. To be the first to get updates on breaking and trending news in Kenya, send your Whatsapp number to 0740949990.
