Students who sat for the Kenya Certificate of Education (KCSE) in 2017 and selected to join Moi University will report on 22nd January 2019.
This follows a decision by the university's Senate on Friday.
The decision is said to have been reached due to the lecturers' strike which has disrupted the school calendar making it hard for the university to stick to the traditional September admission.
The University issued a notice to the students on the change of the admission date through their admission portal.
"We are happy to inform GSSP first years who have been selected to join Moi University in various degree programmes that they will be joining the school on 22nd January 2019," the notice read.
The students will also have to download the admission letters from the online portals as there will be no physical letters sent to the Kesses-based institution in Uasin Gishu county.
"Application forms will be downloaded online from dates that will be announced later. No physical forms will be sent to the school," the notice stated.
The Unversity was also forced to push the crucial admission to next year so as to give space for the third year students who are currently on holiday so that they can finish up their second semester in September.
