A Moi University student in in police custody over alleged links terror group ISIS.
Mombasa principal magistrate Francis Kyambia on Thursday directed the prosecution to carry out probe within 10 days and charge the suspect, who was arrested on October 31 at his parents house in Mombasa.
Police had applied for more days to enable them to analyse the suspect's mobile phone and laptop at the cyber-crime unit.
The court rejected an application by the suspect's lawyer, Khatib Ahmed, opposing further detention to allow investigations.
Detectives believe Hassan Kassim Hassan was in contact with ISIS members in Libya.
The case will be mentioned on November 14, 2016.
