Moi University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Isaac Kosgey on Tuesday presided over the swearing-in ceremony of the university's students leaders.

The exercise was conducted at the university's students center and also attended by the Deputy Vice-Chancellors Academics, Research and Extension and Student Affairs Prof. Nathan Ongechi and Prof. Isaac Kimengi, respectively. Empty seats were however visible as most students were still reporting back to school after the two-months strike and the few who were at school had no idea that the occasion was taking place. Speaking during the event, Prof. Kosgey affirmed his stand on delivering on his mandate and also promised to work together with the student's leadership. He also touched on many issues including refurbishment of the student’s center and improving the state of the hostels. The VC further urged the student's leadership to work hard in order to eradicate any kind of negative publicity at the university. Prof. Ongechi, on the other hand, commended the student's leaders for exhibiting remarkable performance when discharging their duties and also urged them to exhaust all the channels of communication when consulting on critical issues. The Moi University Student organization leadership that was sworn into office by the legal registrar starting are Chairman Isaac Choge, Vice-chairperson Dina Onsomo, the Secretary-General Moses Odour Tisa, Finance Director Victor Okumu, Academics Director Sherin Omondi and Co-curricular affairs director Bridgit Siantei Kashoi. The various school representatives from different campuses included Sam Jakom Ongara, Bilo Wandera, Karakacha Lenny, Elizabeth Omwamu among others.
