Moi University is set to host an international Engineering conference under Higher Education Partnership Sub-Saharan Programme (HEPSSA), sponsored by the Royal Academy of Engineering - UK.
The conference being organised by the University’s School of Engineering, is scheduled for May 11-12, 2017 at Sirikwa Hotel, Eldoret town.
The Royal Academy of Engineering UK advertised the bid for the project, where School of Engineering Dean, Eng Simiyu Sitati, was the lead applicant, supported by Professors John Githaiga and Zachary Siagi.
“We managed to win the bid and we were awarded £140,000 (Sh18m) for the project. The objective of the project is to enhance university industry links,” said Prof Sitati, according to a communication from the school.
Invited conference participants include Royal Academy of Engineering UK, Makerere University, University of Dar-es-Salaam, Busitema University, Uganda Martyrs University, University of Highlands and Islands and University of Eldoret.
Others include Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology, Dedan Kimathi University of Technology, Technical University of Kenya, Technical University of Mombasa, Rivatex East Africa Limited, KVDA and Konza City.
