Retired President Daniel Arap Moi has been called upon to help unite leaders in Rift Valley by presiding over a series of meetings that will bring together key political leaders.
This was said today, Thursday by Njoro Ward Member of the County Assembly Ezekiel Kungu when he addressed an Environmental Stakeholders Forum in Njoro town.
The Member of the County Assembly noted that the retired president was in a better position to unite all leaders in the Rift Valley, as his long experience in politics and leadership was unequaled in the region and country at large.
“I am asking retired President Daniel Moi to act as an elder and use his long time wisdom in politics and leadership to bring together our leaders in Rift valley because the current wrangles are not healthy,” he said.
“He should call for meetings and rallies in the region and talk to them and their followers about the importance of unity,’’ added Kungu.
The MCA noted that the continuing wrangling among key leaders in the Rift Valley was a threat to the ruling Jubilee coalition that hopes to retain power after the next general elections, and called for a quick intervention by likeminded leaders from the region and other parts of the country supporting Jubilee.
