Moiben MP Silas Tiren has urged youths, women and persons living with disabilities in the constituency to apply for Uwezo Fund.

Addressing youths at Moiben trading centre on Saturday, Tiren said that marginalised groups in the constituency are not applying for Uwezo Funds.

The lawmaker said that the low number of applicants seeking  Uwezo Funds is a a major concern.

“Youths, women and persons with disabilities should come out and apply for these funds that have been set aside for their own benefit,” he said.

The MP noted that it is through the fund that marginalised groups will be empowered economically. He said the constituency has the money and will be issuing out the funds to those applicants who have applied.

Tiren blamed youths for lacking interest in the funds saying that cases of unemployment will continue to ravage if youths are not ready to apply for the funds.

“Unless youths and other marginalised groups apply for these funds, we will continue to complain about unemployment,” he said.

Tiren at the same time urged area youths to shun drug abuse and evil vices. He asked youths to be focused and work with him on development projects.
