Moiben Ward MCA Cyrus Ting wants the police recruits that had been shortlisted last year to be given the first priority in yesterday's recruitment exercise saying that majority had been shortlisted on merit.
Ting has said that the recruits have been preparing to go for training for the last one year and denying them the opportunity is being unfair to them.
"We want the 2014 recruits to be given the first priority to join the police service as we know the areas where corruption took place. Let us not deny them this chance as we are subjecting them to a second recruitment exercise," Ting told journalists in Eldoret Town.
Ting's sentiments were echoed by Sergoit Ward MCA Moses Barteng' who said that officers who conducted the exercise last year and were accused of corruption should not be allowed in this year's recruitment.
"The recruits who had been selected fairly should not be subjected to a competitive process considering they have been in a kind of torture in the last one year," said Barteng.
