In a statement Wednesday, Moi who was speaking on behalf of his KANU party called upon the president to engage the NASA leadership led by former Prime Minister Raila Odinga terming it as the only way to assure the opposing side of its representation in government after his disputed October re-election.

''We in KANU are confident that you will rise up and extend an olive branch to those who hold political opinions contrary to yours, and in a spirit of brotherhood steer Kenya towards greater prosperity,'' he is quoted by the Star.

The senator who also congratulated the president upon the validation of his re-election further pledged KANU's support for Jubilee's ideologies and leadership.

''We assure you of our support and pray that the Almighty grants you the wisdom and energy to continue with your efforts to unite our country which is presently fragmented,'' he is further quoted by the paper.
