Residents of Mutirithia in Molo location have called on area chief Hassan Waweru to conduct a fresh crackdown on illicit brewers in the area.
The residents said there has been a resurgence of illicit brew selling in the area despite an earlier crackdown.
"Soon after the last crackdown, the seller, who is well known to us embarked on a fresh bid to sell the substance. A month didn't go down before he started re-brewing," said Samson Avisa.
"Most illicit brewers in Molo have vanished after the last year's crackdown, you can see many people coming from other areas to drink here because there is no chang'aa in their areas, we have informed the chief already," said Tabitha Waithira.
The residents said they are aware the brewer is bribing residents to remain in business.
