A leading matatu Sacco has completed the building of a multimillion building in Nakuru town to serve its operations as well as earn revenue for the Sacco.
According to the organising secretary of the Sacco Emmanuel Githinji, the building that is located off Nakuru-Nairobi highway along Kabarak road within Nakuru town cost Sh 10 million and will host the Sacco’s offices apart from raising revenue for the huge matatu Sacco.
We are now comfortable because we will no longer pay rent and we will earn revenue from this project. It is a milestone for our Sacco and members are happy,’’ said Githinji.
The official said that the management would invite either the transport or the Cooperatives Cabinet Secretaries to officiate over the official opening ceremony to be held later this month.
The Sacco brings together more than a thousand matatu owners and operators in Nakuru County.
